甘乃迪投6局失5分，重傷害是被普荷斯轟出雙響砲，中斷開季前3戰優質先發紀錄，7局下索瑞亞接手投球，又被楚奧特追加陽春砲；8局下王建民登板時，皇家已是落後5分的局面。

王建民先讓西門斯揮成游擊滾地球出局，接著保送潘寧頓後，再用92英里（148公里）伸卡球讓培瑞茲揮出雙殺打，結束天使最後攻勢；建仔終止連3戰失分紀錄，本季出賽5場合計6.1局失3分，未有任何勝敗、防禦率4.26，生涯總勝場數仍是62勝。

大聯盟亞洲勝投王是南韓退役老將朴贊浩，暫以124勝領先，野茂英雄123勝居次，接著是黑田博樹79勝、王建民62勝、松坂大輔56勝、金炳賢54勝、大家友和51勝、陳偉殷和岩隈久志都是47勝、長谷川滋利45勝，其他亞洲投手都不到40勝。

陳偉殷、岩隈目前並列亞洲第8，最快下個月就可投出生涯第50勝，岩隈本季一勝難求，4場先發吞下兩敗。
